GriggThe arrangements which the International Red Cross Committee has been able to make for British prisoners of war in Japanese hands with the permission of the Japanese authorities have not broken down. The supplies sent to British prisoners of war by the diplomatic exchange ships from Lourenco Marques were arranged by the International Red Cross Committee. With the agreement of the Japanese authorities, my right hon. Friend the Postmaster-General established in July last a prisoner-of-war post from this country to Japan by which correspondence for British prisoners of war and civil internees in Japan and Japanese occupied territories can be forwarded. It has not been necessary to utilise the International Red Cross as an intermediary for this service.
