HC Deb 01 October 1942 vol 383 c937W
Mr. David Adams

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is intended to make obligatory upon education committees, and/or farmers, the insurance of children and teachers working upon farms under the new personal accident insurance scheme arranged by the Ministry of Agriculture with certain insurance companies?

Mr. Hudson

No, Sir. The Personal Accident Insurance Scheme provides protection over and above the statutory protection which children enjoy in common with other agricultural workers, and I feel that it must be left to those who are organising the arrangements to decide whether this additional cover should be provided.
