HC Deb 01 October 1942 vol 383 c946W
Colonel Burton

asked the Minister of Labour whether it is the intention of the Government to set up a commission to inquire into the wages and conditions of the catering industry; can he state the nature of such commission and its composition; and whether it is his intention to introduce legislation or regulations relating to the catering industry prior to the receipt of the report of the commission or to await its recommendations?

Mr. Bevin

It is not my present intention to set up a commission of inquiry before laying proposals before Parliament.
