HC Deb 25 November 1942 vol 385 c736W
Sir A. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether, in all cases, dental officers now serving with the Royal Air Force and who had attained the rank of captain when serving with the Royal Army Medical Corps in the last war are now given equivalent rank?

Sir A. Sinclair

An officer's rank on entry is related to the post he is required to fill and, ordinarily, dental officers are appointed initially in the rank of flying officer and earn time promotion to flight lieutenant after 12 months' satisfactory service.
