HC Deb 24 November 1942 vol 385 c678W
Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Health what is the position with regard to the Committee on Medical Schools which is considering the desirability of increasing the facilities for women to study in medical schools in London; and when a Report is expected?

Miss Horsbrugh

The Committee referred to in the reply to my hon. Friend the Member for West Fulham (Dr. Summerskill) on 22nd October last was appointed by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and my right hon. Friend to inquire into the organisation of medical schools. I cannot give a date for the report, but my hon. Friend will understand that the issues involved are of first rate importance and will demand some time for examination. The particular question mentioned by my hon. Friend is of course one only of the very large number of questions that will be considered by the Committee.
