§ Mr. R. Morganasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that Forms B.S.I.G, dealing with applications for insurance against war damage in respect of goods insurable under the business scheme, are issued every quarter or six months; and, since the filling up of these forms involves the routine typing of the same thing each time, whether he will take steps to avoid waste of paper on this scale?
§ Mr. DaltonForm B.S.I (G) is a small single sheet measuring 5¼ inches by 8½ inches, and is now completed only at six-monthly intervals. In practice, it is 2293W found that the particulars to be recorded vary from one insurance period to another in a large number of cases, owing to variations in the value of the business equipment or the wishes of the insured in regard to goods which are voluntarily insurable. The possibility of saving paper from some simplification of the requirements has been carefully considered, in consultation with an Advisory Committee of the Insurance Interests who act as the agents of the Board of Trade for the insurance schemes, but it was found undesirable to make any general change in the present arrangements.
