HC Deb 10 November 1942 vol 383 c2292W
Lieut.-Commander Tufnell

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will consider amending the coupon system so far as household goods are concerned in order to help those householders who have people compulsorily billeted on them and who have to replace articles damaged or worn out in consequence of their use by the persons billeted?

Mr. Dalton

No, Sir. The only essential household goods subject to coupon are towels and teacloths; and everyone who does not provide his own should take his turn to contribute a coupon or two when replacement is necessary.
