HC Deb 10 November 1942 vol 383 c2321W
Mr. Douglas

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the approximate annual values of all the landed properties in England and Wales and in Scotland assessable to Income Tax under Schedule A for the financial year 1941–42; and what were the estimated net yields under this schedule for that financial year?

Sir K. Wood

The gross annual value of lands and buildings assessed under Schedule A in 1941–42 is estimated at £545,000,000 in England and Wales, and £45,000,000 in Scotland. I regret that I am unable to state the amount of tax, as the receipts under the different schedules of the tax are not distinguished in the collection accounts.
