§ Mr. Douglasasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the approximate annual values of all the landed properties in England and Wales and in Scotland assessable to Income Tax under Schedule A for the financial year 1941–42; and what were the estimated net yields under this schedule for that financial year?
§ Sir K. WoodThe gross annual value of lands and buildings assessed under Schedule A in 1941–42 is estimated at £545,000,000 in England and Wales, and £45,000,000 in Scotland. I regret that I am unable to state the amount of tax, as the receipts under the different schedules of the tax are not distinguished in the collection accounts.
