HC Deb 26 March 1942 vol 378 c2174W
Colonel Carver

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the success of the scheme started by the Women's Voluntary Service at Fulford, Yorkshire, for the growing of sugar-beet in village and suburban gardens, he will recommend this scheme to other districts in areas within easy access of beet factories so that, in the aggregate, many tons of sugar will be produced and shipping space saved?

Mr. Hudson

I have no information about the scheme referred to, but if my hon. and gallant Friend will send me particulars I will consider his suggestion.
