HC Deb 26 March 1942 vol 378 cc2184-5W
Captain C. S. Taylor

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he will now give an assurance that conscientious objectors who renounce their objection to join the Royal Army Medical Corps will be retained in that Corps, and not transferred to any other branch of His Majesty's forces?

Mr. Sandys

A man who has been exempted as a conscientious objector from military service, but subsequently renounces his objection so far as to be willing to join the Royal Army Medical Corps, will in no circumstances be posted to a combatant arm and will normally remain in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
