HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 c2005W
Mr. Riley

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consult with the Secretary of State for the Colonies and the Minister of Labour as to the desirability of inviting agricultural workers in the West Indian Colonies to come to Great Britain for work on the land for the duration of the war?

Mr. Hudson

I understand that the question of bringing over labour from the West Indies for civilian work is at present receiving consideration by the Secretary of State for the Colonies and the Minister of Labour.
