§ Mr. Wilmotasked 1he Postmaster-General whether he is aware that many London postal superintending officers are willing to be transferred to other Departments to assist in the war effort; and whether he will invite applications for potential vacancies from among these officers?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonYes, Sir. I have continuously under consideration the question of employing such of the higher officers, both of the London on and the Provincial postal service, as can be spared for positions in other Government Departments where their experience would be helpful to the war effort. Specific vacancies are brought under the notice of the staff from time to time, but they have not hitherto been sufficiently numerous to justify the formation of a pool of officers willing to be transferred.
