HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 cc2016-7W
Major Lyons

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether it is with his knowledge and concurrence that the Board of Trade refuses to issue coupons to enable non-commissioned officers and men of the Services to obtain pyjamas; and whether the embargo applies to all ranks now issued with coupons?

Mr. Sandys

No coupons are issued to other ranks, to whom all articles of clothing, which are considered essential, are provided direct from Army stores. Officers, to whom no free issue is made, are supplied with coupons with which to buy the articles of clothing they require.
