HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 cc2018-9W
Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can make any statement in regard to the exchange of British and Japanese diplomats?

Mr. Law

The negotiations for the exchange of British and Japanese diplomatic and consular officials are proceeding, but have not yet been completed. His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom have acted in this matter in consultation with the Dominion and Allied Governments and it is hoped that the exchange will take place at Lourenco Marques, but it is not yet possible to say on what date this will be arranged.
