HC Deb 19 March 1942 vol 378 cc1689-90W
Sir W. Smithers

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the proceedings at the East London Juvenile Court during the week ended 14th March, and to the cause of the offences being the existence of Fun Fairs; and, in view of the necessity for conserving oil and coal, will he take the necessary steps to close all Fun Fairs in the country?

Mr. H. Morrison

I have seen the letter of the chairman of the juvenile court referred to which was printed in the Press and I have received representations on the same subject from other quarters. Inquiry is being made, and I will communicate the result to my hon. Friend.
