§ Mr. Barrasked the Secretary of State for India on what grounds he estimates the number of Momins who disavow the Moslem League as being 4,000,000 to 5,000,000?
§ Mr. AmeryIn view of the fact that, according to the Census report for 1931, the Momins then numbered only a little over 3,000,000, I could hardly give credence to the suggestion that they had grown to 45,000,000 since that date and considered a Press version of the telegram sent by the All-India Momin Conference, giving the figure as 4,000,000 to 5,000,000 as being obviously nearer the mark. I will however make further inquiry into the matter as I have received further telegrams asserting that the figure I gave was incorrect. I should add that I have also had a telegram from the President of the Momin Conference, presumably a separate body, claiming that, politically, the Momins are solidly behind the Moslem League.
