§ Mr. Kirbyasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will sympathetically consider the urgent desirability of introducing a new coupon or- other system whereby workpeople engaged in filthy and heavy occupations necessitating constant replacement of overalls will be able to secure such replacements without using ordinary coupons which are required for ordinary clothing replace- 1676W ments; and if such special arrangements are not possible by direct issue of coupons to the workers concerned, will he consider the urgent desirability of instituting a scheme whereby the employers of such men may purchase overalls in bulk without coupons for sale to their workers?
§ Captain WaterhouseClaims for supplementary clothing coupons from workers whose normal ration is insufficient to cover their needs of working clothes including overalls, should be submitted by the trade unions concerned to the Board of Trade through the Trades Union Congress.
