HC Deb 18 March 1942 vol 378 c1527W
Colonel Carver

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that the reduction of superfluous dairy rounds is being delayed because local food offices make it impossible for these rounds to be transferred or amalgamated on a business-like basis; and whether, in view of the urgency of this problem, he will make arrangements to reduce the right of customers in such circumstances to re-register with whom they like and to permit their transfer automatically from the dairyman closing down to the dairyman taking over his business or merging with him?

Major Lloyd George

This matter is ceiving my Noble Friend's close attention and has recently been discussed with representatives of distributors in connection with proposals for the rationalisation of retail distribution. He hopes to be able to make a statement on it at an early date.
