HC Deb 18 March 1942 vol 378 cc1519-20W
Sir J. Mellor

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, when civilian evidence is known to be available with regard to the conduct of a driver of an Army vehicle involved in a collision, such evidence is obtained and considered with a view to possible disciplinary action against the driver concerned.

Mr. Sandys

The driver of an Army vehicle who has caused a collision is placed on a charge and brought before his commanding officer, who obtains all the evidence from civilian witnesses, including the police, that he considers necessary to enable him to dispose of the case from the disciplinary aspect.
