HC Deb 17 March 1942 vol 378 c1345W
Commander Locker-Lampson

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War what branches of the fighting units under the War Office will not enrol British citizens one of whose parents was British-born?

Mr. Sandys

A British subject, one of whose parents had previously possessed enemy nationality and had not become a naturalised British subject before the child's birth, is not normally accepted for service in the Royal Armoured Corps, Royal Corps of Signals, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, or certain branches of the Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers.
