HC Deb 12 March 1942 vol 378 c1219W
Mr. David Adams

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that upon the Brechin Castle Estate, Trinidad, where several hundred West Indians are employed, all requests for war-time increase of wages to meet the rising costs of living have been refused; and whether he will make representations to remedy this hardship?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

The Governor of Trinidad is being asked for a report on this matter, and I will communicate with my hon. Friend on receipt of his reply.
