Major Lloyd GeorgeIn order that the trade might be fully aware in advance of the restrictions to be imposed on retail deliveries of bread, my Noble Friend explained them to the Press at a conference of 27th January last, stating that they would come into force on 2nd March. A Press notice issued by my Department was widely reproduced during the same week. This was followed by a broadcast announcement on 24th February, and a final Press notice was issued on 26th February, the day on which the Order was signed.
