HC Deb 04 March 1942 vol 378 cc665-6W
Petty-Officer Herbert

asked the Minister of Information whether His Majesty's Government still regard British film production as an important part of the war effort; and what action is proposed to ensure that the necessary facilities and staff are made available to enable the industry to carry on successfully?

Mr. Bracken

Yes, Sir. Films have proved a most valuable medium for presenting the British case abroad and informing the public at home. Both my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade and I are giving the British film industry all the help we can towards maintaining production at the highest level possible in war-time.
