HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 c51W
Mr. R. Morgan

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware of the widespread ignorance in Great Britain regarding our Chinese Allies; and whether he will take steps to rectify this so far as the educational system is concerned?

Mr. Butler

As far as the public system of education is concerned, knowledge of our Chinese Allies can best be imparted in connection with instruction and discussions on current affairs. The importance of such instruction and discussions in present times is fully recognised by the teachers and is emphasised by H.M. Inspectors.
