HC Deb 30 June 1942 vol 381 c50W
Mr. Oliver

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether inquiries have now been completed respecting the allegation that the Butterley Coal and Iron Company was working the uneconomic seams of coal as against the more productive ones; and, if so, with what result?

Major Lloyd George

I have had a special investigation made by my technical adviser in the district, obtained a full report and find that the allegation was completely unfounded. In fact the output from the collieries concerned has considerably increased and recently was the largest for many years.
