Mr. Lipson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will furnish an analysis of children killed on the roads for the four months ended 30th April, stating numbers killed in daylight, during hours of darkness; class of vehicle involved, whether private motor-car, commercial vehicle, public service vehicle, service vehicle; locality of accident, whether town, village, or open road; and how many were evacuated children and not under parental control?

The following statement gives the number of children under 15 years of age reported to have died as a result of road accidents during the four months January to April, 1942, subdivided according to whether the accidents occurred during hours of darkness or other hours and whether on roads subject to a speed limit or on other roads:
