§ Mr. Harold MacmillanMy Noble Friend is confident that the Government of Nigeria will only direct labour to specific work as may be required for the war effort; and that every consideration will be given to the protection and welfare of such labour. The price to be paid for tin under the current contract is now being negotiated. The price last year was £260 10s. per ton, and in 1939 £230 per ton. The wage position is under constant review.
