§ Mr. W. Brownasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in connection with the staffing of the new Ministry for dealing with fuel problems, he will give Civil Service staff associations the opportunity of bringing to his notice cases of staffs in various grades in other Government Departments who claim to be underemployed and would be available to fill posts in the new department?
§ Sir K. WoodAs regards the provision of any additional staff required by the new Ministry, it is the normal practice in cases of this kind to ask for contributions from such other Departments as are likely to be able to help. Staff associations have already been invited to call attention to any cases of under-employment and to co-operate with Departments in reducing the number of staff employed.
