HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 cc710-1W
Sir G. Jeffreys

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he proposes to take any action to stop wholesale dealers in vegetables compelling retailers, who ask for one commodity which they need, to buy, as a condition of sale, a quantity of other articles which they do not need?

Mr. Mabane

It is an offence against the Food (Conditions of Sale) Order, 1940, S.R. & O. No. 2012, for a person in connection with a sale or proposed sale of any article of food to impose any condition relating to the purchase of any other article whatsoever. Any information received by my Department of such contravention of the Order is always actively followed up.
