HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 c726W
Captain Plugge

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether we are developing sufficient and appropriate aeroplanes to serve for cargo-carrying purposes, especially across the Atlantic; and whether the estimated value of 12 such aeroplanes in their relation to the use of a 5,000-ton ship is being recognised and exploited?

Captain Balfour

Every effort is being made, consistent with our needs in other directions, to provide transport aircraft to meet the wide and increasing requirements of our war effort. I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that due weight is being given to the particular considerations urged by him.
