HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 cc714-5W
Mr. Daggar

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the nature of the action he proposes to take in connection with the British Manufacture and Research Company, Limited, and other companies which are the subject of a Report from the Public Accounts Committee?

Sir K. Wood

The Report of the Public Accounts Committee to which my hon. Friend refers is now the subject of immediate consideration by the Treasury, and by the Departments most closely concerned with the transactions to which the Report refers. The action required in connection with the specific contracts referred to is I understand being taken by the contracting Departments concerned. The Treasury is preparing a Minute upon the specific recommendations of this Report, and upon the general questions of contract policy which it raises and the Minute will be communicated to the Public Accounts Committee.
