HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 cc717-8W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Information on how many occasions since the war began his Ministry has employed, in addition to its own staff, the services of any outside Press, publicity or public relations agent; and whether he will give names, charges paid and duties performed?

Mr. Bracken

The Ministry employs advertising agents for the placing of its Press and poster advertising in this country; and official war photographs are supplied to the Home Press through appropriate agencies. For its overseas propaganda the Ministry uses agencies, journalists and similar means when local circumstances make that course desirable. It would be contrary to the public interest to give details of these arrangements.
