HC Deb 30 July 1942 vol 382 c712W
Mr. Naylor

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the limited quantity of apples and pears, both cooking and dessert varieties, that will be available in the autumn, and as hotel patrons have the same opportunities of purchase for home consumption as other persons, he will prohibit the sale of such fruit to hotels and other refreshment establishments, apart from those connected with the national services, and thus ensure a fairer distribution of supplies among all classes of the community than would otherwise be possible?

Mr. Mabane

My Noble Friend sees no occasion to restrict the sale of apples and pears in the way suggested by my hon. Friend.
