HC Deb 29 July 1942 vol 382 cc530-1W
Mr. Gledhill

asked the Postmaster-General whether the system of Government priority calls has now been revised to prevent urgent business calls being crowded out by personal calls of Government servants?

Mr. Grimston

The privilege of making priority calls is restricted to a limited number of individuals in Government Departments, the Fighting and Civil Defence Services, and important war industries. The use made of the priority facility is constantly checked to ensure that Government servants and other users do not invoke priority on private calls.
