HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 c351W
Mr. Liddall

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the nature of their occupation, he will consider making an extra allowance of soap over and above the ration to handlers of coal and other objects, the result of which involves difficulty in cleansing the skin?

Mr. Mabane

Any industrial or trade concerns which prior to soap rationing provided washing facilities for their employees at work can obtain an allowance of soap for this purpose. I regret that in view of the supply position my noble Friend is unable to provide any supplementary domestic soap rations.
