HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 cc343-4W
Sir L. Lyle

asked the Secretary of State for War what steps are being taken to enforce his recommendation that the speed of Army motor-cars should not exceed 40 miles per hour?

Sir J. Grigg

The speed limits laid down for Army vehicles are enforced by both the military and the civil police. Where the driver of a War Department vehicle has broken the civil law the civil police can either prosecute or report the offender to the military authorities.
