HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 c347W
Mr. Goldie

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Planning whether he is aware of the great inconvenience caused to members of the public having business in the city of Lancaster by the requisitioning of practically all the available hotel accommodation in that city and the immediate neighbourhood; and whether, having regard to the important business and professional interests involved, he will arrange for at least one hotel to be released forthwith?

Mr. Hicks

Two hotels have been requisitioned by my Department in Lancaster. Any inconvenience caused is much regretted but it is not possible to release either of them. It is understood that a number of smaller hotels are available for the accommodation of visitors.
