HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 cc349-50W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Supply whether, in connection with the herb-gathering schemes, he will do everything possible to assist the county committees and the Women's Voluntary Service headquarters in their endeavours to prevent delay taking place between receiving the herbs at the collecting centres and drying them, in view of the fact that many herbs are valueless unless dried in a few hours?

Mr. Peat

Yes, Sir. Full information on the drying of native medicinal plants has already been supplied to the county herb committees and the other voluntary organisations who are assisting in the collection of these plants, and the vegetable drugs committee of the Ministry of Supply is always ready to advise any of these organisations who experience difficulty in making arrangements for drying.
