HC Deb 28 July 1942 vol 382 c339W
Captain Ramsay

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will include in his surveys a project for the construction of a sea-level canal capable of taking large ships from the Firth of Clyde to the Firth of Tay?

Mr. Noel-Baker

I do not think it would be practicable in present conditions to undertake a survey of a scheme of this magnitude, but the project has been noted, together with others.

Captain Ramsay

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will include in his survey a project for the construction of road bridges close to the existing railway bridges over the Firths of Forth and Tay?

Mr. Noel-Baker

I am prepared to consider proposals submitted by the appropriate authorities.
