HC Deb 23 July 1942 vol 382 c204W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Information to what extent he is responsible for controlling and scrutinising advertisements from the various Government Departments or for acting in an advisory capacity in this connection; and whether he will confer with the Chancellor of the Exchequer to see what steps can be taken to centralise and organise the advertising of the various Government Departments with a view to effecting economies and preventing unnecessary overlapping?

Mr. Bracken

The Ministry of Information is the central organ for the conduct of Government publicity and is in effective control of the advertising campaigns of all Departments excepting two.
