HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 c1093W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food the figures of consumption of milk in the years 1939 to 1941 for adults and children, respectively; or, if this differentiation is impossible, figures for the gross consumption?

Mr. Mabane

The total sales of milk for liquid consumption in the United Kingdom in the calendar years 1939, 1940 and 1941 were 863,000,000, 937,000,000 and 1,065,000,000 gallons respectively. These figures exclude milk consumed by members of farmers' households. It is not possible to give figures of consumption by adults and children separately.
