HC Deb 14 July 1942 vol 381 c1096W
Sir W. Smiles

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that overseas pay to medical officers who joined up in India has only been paid from 21st November, 1941;and whether he will take the necessary steps to have the balance due to medical officers from the actual date of their joining the Indian Medical Service credited to those officers who joined up before that date?

Mr. Amery

No, Sir, and I know of no reason why overseas pay should have been paid only from the date mentioned. I am bringing the matter to the notice of the Government of India.
