HC Deb 09 July 1942 vol 381 cc965-6W
Sir R. Gower

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, when established footpaths are being ploughed up as part of the greater production campaign, provision will be made for their re-establishment after the war?

Mr. Hudson

Unless there is an established right to plough a footpath in the regular course of cultivation, an authorisation is necessary under Defence Regulation 62. (5A) before a footpath can lawfully be ploughed. It is one of the conditions of granting any such authorisation that the occupier shall give a written undertaking to restore all rights in respect of the footpath as soon as the Regulation shall cease to be in force.
