HC Deb 09 July 1942 vol 381 c960W
Mr. David Adams

asked the Postmaster-General whether there is a direct air-mail service between the United Kingdom and Freetown, Sierra Leone; and, if not, is such contemplated?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

The use of the air service for the carriage of mail from Sierra Leone to this country has recently been arranged, but I am informed that there is no immediate prospect of sufficient aircraft capacity being available in the outward direction to enable corresponding facilities to Sierra Leone to be established.
