HC Deb 07 July 1942 vol 381 c649W
Mr. Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will grant a temporary discharge to Private Holden because of his wife's serious illness and four young children at home?

Sir J. Grigg

Private Holden is at present, I understand, on seven days' leave and in view of his wife's confinement will be granted a further ten days' leave if he applies for it. In addition to this he can, if circumstances warrant, apply to his commanding officer for a further extension of leave.
