HC Deb 29 January 1942 vol 377 cc943-4W
Dr. Morgan

asked the Minister of Health (1) what complaints have reached his Department as to the conditions existing in the mental hospital, Severalls, near Colchester, Essex; how many changes of medical officers have taken place there recently, and on what grounds; why the medical officer recently insisted on a notice calling a trade union meeting being taken down from the notice board; and whether he will cause an inquiry to be made into the administration of this institution recently;

(2) why the late matron of the mental hospital, Severalls, near Colchester, Essex, who was awarded a decoration for good nursing work, resigned her position as matron of this institution; and whether he is satisfied with existing conditions in that institution?

Mr. E. Brown

I am making inquiries and will inform my hon. Friend of the result as soon as possible.
