§ Mr. Silkinasked the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to deal with the possible spread to this country of the epidemic of typhoid which has broken out in certain parts of Eastern Europe?
§ Mr. E. BrownPrecautions against typhoid are part of the normal public health services, but they have been supplemented by arrangements which will enable any local authority to carry out immediate large-scale inoculation whenever, in the opinion of the medical officer of health, circumstances make this advisable. I may also inform my hon. Friend that special precautions have been taken against the possible spread to this 235W country from the Continent of louse-borne typhus fever, and I am sending him a copy of a circular on this subject issued to all local authorities.
