§ Sir V. WarrenderThe apprentices in Chatham Dockyard share in the canteen accommodation provided for the work-people in general. New canteen accommodation for about 1,000 workpeople is now almost completed. This accommodation will afford relief in the men's canteens, where certain space is at present utilised by women. In addition, plans have been prepared for further new canteens with a view to bringing the total number of seats available at one time up to about one-quarter of the number of workpeople employed in the Yard. The work will be put in hand forthwith.
