§ Captain MargessonStandards of promotion are the same in all military hospitals and camp reception stations. Promotions are made to fill vacancies within authorised establishments and Voluntary Aid Detachment personnel are selected for promotion according to their qualifications, length of service and the recommendations made by their commanding officer. I am not aware of any discontent among members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments arising from this aspect of their conditions of service.
