asked the Minister of Labour if he will inform the House the amount of money in sterling that was paid out as unemployed pay to men and women, respectively, from 1929 to 1939?

The following table shows approximately, in respect of the calendar years 1929 to 1939, the amounts of unemployment

Year. Paid at Local Offices of the Ministry of Labour and of the Assistance Board. *Paid through Associations. Grand Total.
Men (Aged 18 and over). Women (Aged 18 and over). Boys (Aged 16 and 17). Girls (Aged 16 and 17). Total.
